Elective Courses Prerequisite Courses |
Our course design is based on the
principle of flexibility that seeks to adjust to many variables. We are not
absolute in our design and adapt and change as see the need. From the beginning,
we consulted different programs of applied and foreign languages departments in
Taiwan and abroad. At the same time, we asked for suggestions from
professionals in business to gain an understanding of what qualifications they
require for a language specialist.
In principle, the department hopes that the students can complete the
basic courses and most core courses.
However, we leave some space for changes in courses and credits in order
to adjust to the changes of the social needs, students’interests, and
faculty’s specialty.
The following describes briefly the guiding principles and the structure
of the program.
A.
Guiding Principles:
1. Students are required to take intensive training courses in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of both English and Japanese throughout the four-year study.
2. The program focuses on the training of language proficiency, complemented with application courses on professional expertise, covering such fields as language teaching (theory and its practice), translation and interpretation, computer-aided and multi-media language instruction, English communication skills, business English, and journalistic English.
B.
Structure:
The program is divided into two sections: language proficiency (English and Japanese) and international business management.
