Please make sure that you are eligible to apply as an international student.

1. This application for admission is applied to international students whose nationality is not from the Republic of China (ROC) and also without overseas Chinese student status as described in Article 2, of the Nationality Act. If you have a ROC nationality but have ceased to renounce it for eight years since the date was issued according to Ministry of the Interior, you are not qualified to apply for YZU. (The eight-year renouncement depends on the starting date of the semester.)

Note: According to the Article 2 of the Nationality Act, a person who meets one of the following requirements acquires the nationality of the Republic of China:

a. A person whose father or mother was, at the time of his (her) birth, a citizen
of the Republic of China.

b. A person born after the death of his (her) father or mother who was, at the
time of his (her) death, a citizen of the Republic of China.

c. A person born in the territory of the Republic of China and whose parents
are born unknown or are stateless.

d. A naturalized person.

2. International students who are accepted to study in Taiwan, according to cultural exchange and cooperation agreements with foreign governments, schools, institutions and cultural or educational organizations, are not subject to the restrictions mentioned above.

3. International students who have graduated from a high school, college or university recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (For more information, please visit here) can apply for admission.

4. International students with a high school diploma are eligible to apply for undergraduate programs; students with a bachelor's degree are eligible to apply for Master's programs; students with a Master's degree are eligible to apply for PhD programs. Applicants with equivalent qualifications to that of our academic degree system can apply for admission.

5. International students who have been expelled by any university or college in the Republic of China are not eligible to re-apply for admissions.

Violation of above-mentioned rules would result in immediate cancellation of the applicant's admission or the deprivation of the applicant's recognized status as YZU registered student, or revocation of applicant's YZU diploma. No academic certificate will be given.
