[EMI – forwarding: National Taiwan Normal University] Inter-University Open Classroom Observation, Roundtable Forum, and AI Lecture under the Bilingual Education Alliance

Forwarding Information on the Inter-University Open Classroom Observation, Roundtable Forum, and AI Lecture under the Bilingual Education Alliance Co-organized by Our EMI Resource Center and Partner Universities

Description:

1.       During the Spring Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, our EMI Resource Center (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”), in collaboration with the University’s Office of Bilingual Education, Fu Jen Catholic University (College of Fashion and Textiles), National Taiwan University (Bilingual Education Center), National Taipei University (Office of the College of Business), Feng Chia University (Bilingual Education Resource Center), Tzu Chi University (Foreign Language Teaching Center), National Chung Cheng University (Language Center), Chung Hwa University of Medical Technology (Center for Teaching and Learning Development), Kaohsiung Medical University (Office of Academic Affairs), and National Kaohsiung Normal University, will jointly organize 18 sessions of Inter-University Open Classroom Observation. In addition, one-day series events, including a Roundtable Forum and AI Lecture, will be co-hosted with Feng Chia University and Kaohsiung Medical University.

2.       The Center organized 14 sessions of inter-university EMI open classroom observation in the Fall Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026. In the current semester, 18 additional sessions will be held, featuring EMI instructors who have returned from overseas training programs delivering open classes. Faculty members will share their teaching practices, and through classroom observation, expert feedback, and professional dialogue, the program aims to provide opportunities for EMI instructors nationwide to engage in peer learning and exchange.

(1) Inter-University Open Classroom Observation: EMI instructors who participated in overseas training at The University of Texas at Austin (USA) in Summer 2025 and the University of New South Wales (Australia) in 2026 will conduct open classes. Each session will include invited experts and scholars serving as discussants to provide feedback and facilitate post-class discussions, focusing on EMI course design, classroom practices, and strategies for enhancing teaching quality.

(2) Bilingual Education Alliance Roundtable Forum and AI Lecture: These sessions focus on concepts and approaches to bilingual capacity building, as well as the implementation of open classroom observation. The AI lecture will explore how artificial intelligence can be applied to support instructional design and foster critical thinking in EMI classrooms, incorporating practical cases and interdisciplinary teaching experiences.
