YZU IoT Gateway makes home smart

Wen-Hsing Kuo(郭文興), Associate Professor in Dept. of Electrical Engineering, has directed the Internet Laboratory. His team has studied IoT for years and developed several applications, YZU IoT Gateway is the major one for home use.

Kuo says the Getaway connects the set-top box by Bluetooth or WiFi signals. The box conjoins home appliances and collects data for the internet. Users in the family can receive weather information and remotely control home appliances such as lamps and fans by mobile devices. YZU has applied for a patent grant domestically and internationally and planned to establish the university, industry and government partnerships.
