YZU students create APP won the prize in Mobile Internet Innovation Contest

Prof. Jui-chien Hsieh of YZU Dept. of Information Management, with college students from Medical Informatics & Telemedicine Lab, built an APP to help reducing the risk of life-threatening altitude sickness. They participated in China Mobile Internet Innovation Contest and won the first prize after defeating more than 2,000 teams.

Prof. Hsieh said that the lab combined wearable bracelet with mobile application to send SpO2 values and pulse to mobile app in time by Bluetooth. By comparing to standard value, the smart design can help mountain climbers monitor their SpO2 values to prevent the altitude sickness.
