TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – An assistant professor at Yuan Ze University (元智大學) saw his promotional movie for a Taiwanese restaurant chain win a Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards, reports said Wednesday.

Chang Shih-ming (張世明) directed the four-minute “Aftertaste” for Wizard Films on behalf of Shin Yeh Co., Ltd. (欣葉), a prominent restaurant operator marking its 40th anniversary.

He showed a restaurant scene which suddenly moves backward in time to reveal the cooking process, the Central News Agency reported. The intention was to let the public know about the efforts of restaurant cooks and staff in turning raw materials into the delicious dishes on their table, Chang said.

The Cannes event featured more than 1,000 promotional movies from 45 countries, with a jury consisting of Academy Award and Emmy Award winners as well as other movie professionals, according to CNA.
