Former Vice President Chen gives speech in YZU on the new world after the epidemic

Yuan Ze University invited former Vice President Chien-Jen Chen to give a speech about "The new world after the epidemic-on the achievements and ahallenges of Taiwan's prevention of emerging infectious disease". Chen said that when Taiwan’s facing the severe SARS in 2003, he was appointed as the Minister of Health, Executive Yuan and led Taiwan to curb the spread of the epiodemic successfully. He actively promoted the reorganization of the Department of Health and the Disease Control Bureau, and established a national medical system of infectious disease to enhance Taiwan's epidemic prevention capabilities and medical quality.

YZU Lectures of General Education are cross-disciplinary courses aimed at leading students to understand the development of knowledge related to humanities and natural sciences, to cultivate students' diverse perspectives, and to observate and reflect the local culture and environment. The courses arrange a series of lectures which combine with field teaching and encourage cross-field learning with group interaction and cooperation to establish a diverse and broad learning horizon.
