Yuan Ze University’s Department of Chinese Language and Literature actively advanced its internationalization efforts by expanding overseas academic cooperation. Recently, it signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Department of Chinese Studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Pusan National University. These partnerships aimed to establish a solid platform for academic exchange and marked a new chapter in globally oriented academic collaboration.
In June 2024, the Department of Chinese at Yuan Ze University established a partnership with the Department of Chinese Studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies, initiating a new phase of bilateral exchange. Through online courses taught by Professor Huang Chih-Ming, the department shared research achievements in AI and digital humanities, showcasing Yuan Ze’s strength in interdisciplinary teaching and research, and reinforcing the depth of academic and educational collaboration between the two institutions.
Recently, Department Chair Hung Shih-Hui and Professor Ho Wei-Hsuan led five students on a visit to South Korea, co-hosting an academic symposium with the Department of Chinese Studies at Busan University of Foreign Studies. The event fostered meaningful dialogue between students and international scholars, demonstrating Yuan Ze students’ strong language skills and global communication abilities.
Hung Shih-Hui stated that during the visit, the department also signed an MOU with the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Pusan National University. The two sides planned to carry out various cooperative programs, including student exchanges and jointly organized conferences, laying a solid foundation for long-term collaboration. She emphasized that establishing official partnerships with two prestigious Korean universities within a short period represented a significant milestone for the department and offered a valuable international experience for both faculty and students.
The Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Yuan Ze University had long been committed to enhancing students’ global perspectives and academic competitiveness. Looking ahead, it plans to continue expanding international partnerships and creating a diverse, open teaching and research environment, striving toward the goal of becoming a globally influential academic institution.
