To deepen international cooperation in Chinese language education and expand exchange networks for faculty and students, the Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature at Yuan Ze University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Lac Hong University in Vietnam. The two institutions collaborated in areas including Chinese language teaching, student internships, faculty exchange, and curriculum development, jointly cultivating Chinese language professionals with cross-cultural communication skills and global competitiveness.
Tien-Yung Huang, Vice President for International Affairs at Lac Hong University, and Yun-Hui Liang, Associate Chair of the Department of Chinese Language, led a delegation that visited Yuan Ze University for a one-week exchange program. During the visit, both parties formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement, marking a new stage of collaboration between the two universities in Chinese language education and the cultivation of international talent. The signing ceremony was represented by Wei-Hsuan Ho, Director of the Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature at Yuan Ze University, and was witnessed by Chih-Ming Huang, Fu-Mei Hsu, and Chi-Hung Lee, along with other faculty members.
Yuan Ze University stated that the Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature had long been committed to integrating theoretical and practical teaching. In addition to solidly cultivating students’ professional proficiency in Chinese, the department actively developed interdisciplinary courses in Chinese language teaching, digital humanities, cultural and creative industries, and AI applications. Through overseas internships, international exchanges, and cross-cultural learning opportunities, the university enhanced students’ global mobility and employability.
Director Wei-Hsuan Ho stated that the department already had a strong foundation for collaboration with Lac Hong University. During the previous summer, the department selected several students to conduct Chinese language teaching internships in Vietnam. The students gained valuable achievements in teaching practice, cross-cultural communication, and international perspectives. They also demonstrated outstanding professionalism and teaching ability, earning high recognition from Lac Hong University, which further facilitated the signing of this Memorandum of Agreement.
The Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature at Yuan Ze University stated that this collaboration not only marked an important milestone in international exchange between the two universities, but also demonstrated Yuan Ze University’s achievements in promoting the internationalization of Chinese language education. In the future, both sides will continue to deepen cooperation, expand overseas internship and learning opportunities for students, and jointly establish a collaborative platform for Chinese language education that integrates teaching practice, cultural understanding, and international connectivity, cultivating a new generation of talent aligned with global trends.
