【Course Information】20260603_114 Teaching Practice Research & Research Ethics Education and Training (Lecture in Chinese)

  • Topic: Essential Research Ethics for PIs: From Risk Assessment to Compliance
  • Introduce:

In the process of conducting research, ethics is no longer a mere administrative formality; it is the cornerstone for protecting both the principal investigator and the participants. From initial risk assessment during the proposal stage to ethical compliance throughout execution, every step directly impacts the legitimacy, quality, and reputation of academic research.

To this end, the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of R&D are jointly organizing this training session, inviting Dr. Chia-Chiao Chu, Executive Secretary of the Behavioral and Social Sciences Institutional Review Board (IRB) at National Taiwan University (NTU), to deliver a keynote lecture. Dr. Chu has served as the Executive Secretary of the NTU Behavioral and Social Sciences IRB since 2010 and has been an auditing committee member for the Ministry of Education’s Human Research Ethics Review since 2012. Additionally, he holds the IRB Administrator certification from the Taiwan Association of Institutional Review Boards (TAIRB), bringing extensive and profound practical expertise in research ethics.

This lecture aims to help researchers effectively identify potential risks and ensure that every action within the research process aligns with ethical standards. We warmly welcome faculty and students interested in research ethics to join us in enhancing the rigor and integrity of our research projects.
