[Internship Recruitment] Ministry of Justice: Implementation Program for District Prosecutors Offices Providing Probation Internship Opportunities for University Students

The Ministry of Justice (hereinafter referred to as "the Ministry") aims to encourage District Prosecutors Offices (hereinafter referred to as "DPOs") to provide internship opportunities in probation work for students from relevant departments in universities and colleges during summer breaks or semesters. This initiative seeks to establish academic-industry collaboration and enhance the effectiveness of probation services.

Target Candidates:

Graduate students and undergraduate students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) from departments related to Education, Sociology, Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Counseling, Law, Civic Education, Crime Prevention, and Child Welfare. Candidates should be recommended by their institutions based on excellent academic performance, good character, physical and mental health, and a strong passion for volunteering in probation work.

Internship Scope:

  • Case Investigation and Analysis:

    • Drafting Case Counseling Plans: Assisting in the formulation of counseling plans for probation cases.

    • Classification Investigation and Analysis: Assisting in the collection and analysis of data for the tiered classification of probation cases.

    • Analysis of Parole Revocation: Assisting in investigating and analyzing the causes behind the revocation of parole in probation cases.

    • Case Follow-up and Evaluation: Assisting in tracking effectiveness and conducting evaluative research on probation cases that have completed their term.

  • Group Counseling: Assisting the DPO Probation Officer's Office in conducting group counseling sessions, including psychological counseling, religious education, family/marriage counseling, vocational guidance, anti-drug education, or other group activities beneficial to physical and mental health.

  • Legal Education Promotion: Assisting in the planning and operation of regular "Legal Classrooms" to promote legal knowledge and strengthen the law-abiding concepts of probationers.

  • Understanding and Utilization of Social Resources:

    • Case Referral: Assisting in the referral process for probationers.

    • Social Resource Surveys: Assisting in liaising with social support systems within the jurisdiction to facilitate probation work.

  • Other Projects: Any other items deemed suitable for student internships by the DPO.

Internship Period:

  • Summer Internship: Generally six weeks in principle.

  • Semester Internship: Generally follows the internship period designated by the respective school/university.
