On May 18, 2025, the Yuan Ze University Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Alumni Association invited alumni to step into the historic Li-Hsiao Dormitory in Zhongli for a unique immersive theater experience, blending educational sentiment with local cultural storytelling.

This special event was curated and directed by alumna Li Chi-Jui, a graduate of the Cultural and Creative Industries and Cultural Policy Ph.D. Program in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yuan Ze University. She currently serves as CEO of Rayark Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd.

With her professional background in theater arts, Chi-Jui transformed the entire dormitory into a boundary-less stage, seamlessly integrating curation with educational values. Through movement and interaction, participants became part of the narrative, emotionally connecting with the stories woven into every corner.

From high school students playing poker in the corner to passersby who turned out to be actors in disguise, every element was part of a living, breathing performance.
These characters and scenes, scattered throughout the Li-Hsiao Dormitory, transported participants back to the Zhongli of the 1960s.

The performance not only stirred nostalgic memories for local residents but also fostered a deeper emotional connection to Zhongli for alumni from other regions—beyond their time studying at Yuan Ze University.

At the end of the event, many alumni expressed that the experience revealed the powerful potential of art in community engagement, and deepened their sense of connection as Yuan Ze alumni.

This gathering was more than just an alumni reunion—it was an unforgettable journey where culture and memory intertwined.

Looking ahead, the Yuan Ze University Alumni Association will continue to collaborate with regional alumni chapters to organize diverse and meaningful events. Through culture and education as mediums, we will ensure the Yuan Ze spirit continues to shine throughout society.
