For the potential development of ‘Silicon Valley in Asia’ and the plan of Taoyuan Aviation City, National Central University (NCU), Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) and YZU have decided to cooperate in teaching, research, and development. Dr. Jing-yang Jou (周景揚), President of NCU, Dr. K.C. Chang (張光正), President of CYCU, and YZU President Jyh-Yang Wu have signed the coalition agreement at NCU on July 21, along with Mayor of Taoyuan City Cheng Wen-Tsan (鄭文燦) who acted as an official witness.

The coalition includes course taking, credit recognition, joint programs, volunteer service programs, faculty and student groups and sharing of research resources. The coalition also introduces seminar and event organization, interlibrary cooperation, exchange of teaching and laboratory equipment, electronic media and information.

Dr. Wu says the academic and cultural development of Taoyuan Area will benefit from the coalition, so is the nurture of talents for the ‘Silicon Valley in Asia.' The cooperation among three universities creates an excellent environment for all students by shares the teaching, learning, and resources. He hopes the coalition set an example for higher education on cooperation and competition, expanding the education goal towards value-added segments and knowledge-intensive development.
