Subsidy Measures for Teachers Applying to Attend International Conferences	Regulations	Yuan Ze University (YZU): Regulations on the grant of subsidies for faculty members to attend international conferences NSTC:Subsidy for Domestic Scholars and Experts to Attend International Academic Conferences
	How to apply	Before the conference, teachers applying for these subsidies should apply to the NSTC for funding and grants.(*Note: The submission date of the application institution shall be no later than six weeks before the date of the international academic conference. Application will not be accepted after the deadline.) However, if an NSTC project has already been approved during the same year and approval for funding to attend the international conference has been acquired, an additional application is not required for submission to the NSTC. Apply for subsidies to the affiliated college/department two weeks before the meeting.
	Subsidy content	The number of subsidies for each teacher is limited to one time per school year, and the actual subsidy funds are based on the principle of actual reimbursement. The maximum subsidy funds per person per school year shall not exceed NT$30,000.

Subsidy Measures for graduate students Applying to Attend International Conferences	Regulations	Yuan Ze University (YZU):Key points on the grant of subsidies for graduate students to attend international conferences
	How to apply	Students are required to apply for the NSTC subsidy by the end of the month two months prior to the conference, and subsequently submit the university internal subsidy application at least one month before the conference start date. For co-authored papers, only one author is eligible to receive a subsidy for presenting the same paper. Other co-authors (including faculty members) are not allowed to apply for any other subsidies, either within or outside the university, using the same paper. Applicants must sign the application form to declare that they have not applied for subsidies from any other organization for the same paper.
	Subsidy content	In principle, each applicant is limited to one subsidy per academic year, subject to the availability of the current year's budget . Subsidy Amounts: For PhD students who have received NSTC funding, the maximum subsidy for living expenses per case is NT$12,000. For PhD students without NSTC funding, the subsidy cap is NT$28,000 for conferences held in Asia；For those attending conferences outside of Asia, the subsidy cap is NT$40,000. For master’s students who have received NSTC funding, the maximum subsidy for living expenses per case is NT$5,000.

Research Subsidy Details for Newly-employed Teachers	Regulations	Yuan Ze University (YZU): Regulations on the grant of subsidies for new faculty members’ research start-up funds
	How to apply	Research Start-up Funds: Newly employed full-time faculty members must submit their applications within three months of their date of employment, and these funds must be fully utilized within six months of the date of employment. Subsidies for Special Research Projects: Newly-employed full-time teachers (limited to associate professors and below) who have applied for the particular research project of NSTC within three-year teaching and research experience can apply for this subsidy. Each person can apply for a maximum of one grant. Applications must be submitted within three months of obtaining approval for the NSTC special research project.
	Subsidy content	Research Start-up Funds: The Office of R&D offers a matching subsidy of up to NT$50,000, provided your department also grants a matching amount. No department funding means no Office of R&D subsidy. Subsidies for Special Research Projects: The upper limit is 20% of the particular research project funds (excluding management fees and foreign travel expenses), and the maximum approved amount is NT$300,000 per case.

Subsidies for research by faculty members	Regulations	Yuan Ze University (YZU): Regulations on the grant of subsidies for research by faculty members
	Subsidy content	Full-time faculty with over one year of service who did not receive NSTC funding this year and are not leading other projects can apply once per employment period. Subsidy requests are limited to operational expenses from the rejected NSTC application, excluding PI salary and with personnel costs capped at 50%. The subsidy amount and number of approvals depend on the budget, with a maximum of NT$200,000 per academic year.
