Position Overview
The Doctoral Program in Cultural Industries and Cultural Policies at Yuan Ze University (YZU) invites applications for one full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. We seek an outstanding scholar with a strong commitment to teaching, research, and academic service in the interdisciplinary fields of cultural industries and cultural policies.
The appointment is expected to commence on August 1, 2026.
About the Program
The Doctoral Program in Cultural Industries and Cultural Policies at YZU is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research and education at the intersection of culture, policy, and digital transformation. The program emphasizes both theoretical innovation and applied engagement, contributing to cultural development and policy design in Taiwan and globally.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Hold a Ph.D. degree in cultural industries, cultural policies, or a closely related field, recognized by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan)
2. Demonstrate a strong record of scholarly publication, preferably in international peer-reviewed journals
3. Exhibit excellence in teaching and a commitment to student mentorship
4. Show clear potential for interdisciplinary research collaboration
5. Possess strong communication skills and a willingness to contribute to program development and academic service
Preferred Areas of Expertise
Priority will be given to candidates with teaching and research expertise in one or more of the following areas:
1. Cultural industry management and marketing
2. Cultural heritage and preservation policy
3. Digital technology and cultural industries
4. Other areas relevant to cultural policies and cultural industries
Ability to teach in English is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Teach graduate-level courses in the doctoral program (in Chinese and/or English)
2. Supervise graduate students and contribute to curriculum development
3. Maintain an active and productive research agenda
4. Participate in institutional service and interdisciplinary collaboration
Compensation and Benefits
Salary and benefits are provided in accordance with YZU’s regulations for full-time faculty members, and are competitive within Taiwan’s higher education system.
