Interlibrary Loan Service

An interlibrary loan is a service whereby library patrons of one library are able to borrow or receive photocopies of library materials such as journals/periodicals, books, theses/dissertations, patents and so on from its Consortium Library.

Document Delivery and Photocopy Services

  • Eligibility: faculty, staff and students of Yuan Ze University
  • Interlibrary Loan Services:
    1. Borrow and photocopy books, journals/periodicals, conference proceedings papers, reports
    2. Subscribe theses/dissertations and patents
  • How to:

   Step 1: Apply for a Library user account via online application

 Note: Once the application is approved, applicants will receive an email notice in one to two working days; patrons are eligible to use Nationwide Document Delivery Service (NDDS) afterwards.

    Step 2: Borrow direct at the YZU Library

Search for requested through either Library Catalogor E-Resources ; if unavailable, proceed to step 3.  

    Step 3: Borrow through Interlibrary loan

Search for libraries where requested items are available through The National Bibliographic Information Network (NBINet)or other Library Catalog and select at least three libraries if possible. → Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request Form NDDS Request Formonline and wait for an email notice → Payment Collection: Interlibrary loan services are fee-based. When receiving a notice indicating that items are available for pick up, patrons can collect requested items via paying service fees at the Circulation Desk during Library opening hours.

  • Please note:
    1. In view of the intellectual property law, requested documents can be only partially photocopied, as well as used merely for the purpose of academic research.   
    2. If not returning loan items on or before due date or not picking up requested items within the pick-up period, patrons are subject to:
    • Fines: application fees plus postage are assessed to patrons; and
    • Suspension of interlibrary loan application privilege and borrowing privileges at YZU till fines are paid off.
