  • The Indigenous Peoples Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Association) has formulated these points to reward indigenous students who study abroad at their own expense.
  • Subsidy targets: Those who have the status of indigenous people and have not received full scholarships from the government or other institutions, study abroad at their own expense to study the reference list of the Ministry of Education, or those who have been recognized by the competent authority of the local government or professional evaluation groups for master's and doctoral degrees in foreign universities and institutes.
  • Subsidy: Living expenses during the period of study.
  • Number of grants: Limited to one application per degree.
  • Amount of subsidy: US$400 per month, applied for and issued every six months.
  • Subsidy Period :
    1. For those studying in Europe (excluding the UK) or Japan, the subsidy period is up to four years.
    2. For those traveling to the United States, the United Kingdom, the Pacific and Southeast Asia, the maximum period of the subsidy is three years.
    3. For those who transfer schools or departments for any reason, the subsidy period shall still be handled in accordance with the provisions of the preceding two articles.
    4. Scholars who leave their studies for any reason may apply to the Association for an extension of the subsidy period, provided that the period of suspension is limited to two years.
    5. Those who have not completed the thesis report after completing the credit course, if the subsidy period has not expired, they can still apply for the subsidy, up to the limit of the original subsidy period.
  • Application Method :
    1. For first-time applicants, a copy of the household registration booklet, the Information Card of the Association for Subsidizing Aboriginal Self-financed International Students (Annex 1), the Application Form for Subsidizing Aboriginal Self-financed International Students Living Expenses (Annex 2), the Living Expenses Certificate (Annex 3) and a copy of the tuition fee payment receipt for the semester or academic year. However, if the applicant institution is not in the reference register of the Ministry of Education, it should attach a certificate recognized by the local national authority or professional evaluation body, and non-English-speaking countries should attach an English certificate.
    2. For those who apply for renewal, they should check the application form for subsidizing aboriginal self-funded international students, the tuition fee payment receipt or a copy of the study certificate for the semester or academic year, a living expense receipt and a research report (Annex 4).
  • Application Date :
    1. Before the end of March and September each year, the relevant documents and materials shall be sent to the Association in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 or 2 of Point 7 (based on the date of receipt of postmark or Internet e-mail).
    2. Those who fail to apply within the time limit shall submit the same application within the prescribed deadline for the next application, and if the application is not submitted after being urged by the Association, the subsidy will be cancelled.
  • Issuance method: The Association will complete the review before the end of May and November each year, and if the requirements are met, the foreign account designated by the US dollar transfer applicant or the US dollar exchange rate on the day of remittance is equivalent to the domestic account designated by the New Taiwan dollar remittance applicant.
