Announcement for 2025 Fall Semester Reduced Course Load Application

Subject： 2025 Fall Semester Reduced Course Load Application will start at 12:00 noon on August 18th, 2025 (Mon.) and end at 12:00 noon on September 15th, 2025 (Mon.). Student's Course Reduction application is all to be submitted online. Applicants shall state the reasons for Course Reduction in detail and submit online before the deadline and have the course selected before the online course selection stage III ends.

Content：

1. In accordance with Article 15 of "Yuan Ze University Study Regulations", undergraduate students of all departments shall not take less than 16 credits or more than 25 credits of courses each semester from their first to third academic year; they shall not take less than 9 credits or more than 25 credits of courses each semester in their fourth academic year

2. Undergraduate students who apply for the Course Reduction shall have a special reason and take at least one course each semester (not including Physical Education, Service Learning, and zero-credit courses), except for exchange students. Violators shall suspend from school. Students who extend their studies can select the courses for wish and do not need to apply for the course reduction. The students who take no courses still need to register.

3. Reduced Course Load procedure：

Portal →Study File →Course Reduction →Fill in your reason for application →Submit →Department Review.

Once it’s been approved, students can reduce the course online during the course selection period.

4. Online Course Reduction starts at 12:00 noon on August 18th, 2025 (Mon.) and end at 12:00 noon on September 15th, 2025 (Mon.). Students shall fill in the reasons and submit as soon as possible. Each department can modify its course reduction regulations to meet the needs of the department, and can also inform students' parents the credits reduced in the current semester. Once it’s been approved, students can complete the course selection before the deadline for online course selection stage III.

5. Individuals who wish to drop courses in the mid-semester but will then have credits less than the minimum credits required that semester shall apply for Reduced Course Load at this time.

Once it’s over the course reduction deadline, students shall not apply again due to course withdrawal.
