Education and Training Policy

1. Participation in Training Programs

During their employment at the University, administrative and technical staff members are required to participate in training courses in accordance with university policies and related programs
If a training session takes place during working hours, staff must obtain prior approval from their immediate supervisor. Work responsibilities must be properly arranged, including the appointment of a substitute. No overtime may be claimed on the day of training

2. Off-Campus Further Education

Off-campus training programs must:

  • Be directly related to the staff member’s job responsibilities
  • Be offered externally, i.e., not part of the University's internal training programs

To apply:

  • Obtain approval from the division-level supervisor
  • Complete the “Yuan Ze University Off-Campus Further Education Application Form”
  • Submit the required documents (including the internal request memo and program brochure), along with the Application for Training Subsidy Form, to the Personnel Office for review

Upon final approval by the University President, the applicant may proceed to register independently.
Each staff member may apply only once per academic year.
Applications that do not follow the official procedure will not be eligible for any public funding or subsidy.

3. Reimbursement and Leave Policy

Staff attending off-campus training courses are not eligible to claim:

  • Meal reimbursements,
  • Travel expenses, or
  • Overtime pay.

In case of unexpected schedule adjustments requiring class attendance during working hours, staff must obtain prior approval to take official leave.

4. Reporting for Internal Training Units

Departments organizing internal training sessions must submit the following documents within two weeks after the course ends:

  • Training Effectiveness Report
  • Attendance Sign-In Sheet

Only upon submission will the training hours be officially recorded.

5. Post-Training Report Requirement for Off-Campus Training

Staff members who complete off-campus training must:

  • Submit a “Yuan Ze University Off-Campus Training Reflection Report” within two weeks after course completion
  • Have the report reviewed and signed by their supervisor
  • Submit it to the Personnel Office for filing in the individual's training record

This record may be used for:

  • Selection as a future training instructor
  • Reference in annual performance reviews
  • Consideration for promotion or internal transfer

Failure to submit the report within the two-week deadline will result in:

  • The staff member reimbursing the full amount of the subsidy received from the University
  • Suspension of off-campus training eligibility for one year
